Minoti

Minoti, an accomplished engineer with a solid 22-year track record in the IT field, having contributed to top-tier IT companies.Since childhood, while accompanying her mother to handloom exhibitions, her mother always stressed upon the various weaves and artforms and the weavers who came from various states of Bharat. Having seen her working mother drape those crisp cottons and elegant silks to work , subconsciously ingrained a sense of styling and the rich heritage of weaves and art. These memories stayed with her forever. The preference for quality styling and traditional arts influenced her professional attire, earning admiration from friends and colleagues as she offered suggestions and assistance in creating a stylish look for them while also imparting information about weaves of India.

Amid the IT career journey, there had consistently been a desire to explore this creative inclination. They say 'Manifest and the universe aids you to do exactly that!' And that's what happened, an opportunity arose to explore something new and entirely different in the realm of art and culture, enabling her to follow her passion. Her discerning eye for art forms from various Indian states, coupled interest in handloom weaves, diverse selection of fabrics from different regions of India, inspired the inception of Aasiwun Clothing

A creative person with passion and enthusiasm for art, culture and zest to always strive to do something new. She is also a proficient classical dancer and loves all forms of music and dance genres.

Sheela

Mrs. Sheela Dhamankar comes from education sector. She was a science teacher in Balmohan Vidyamandir, Dadar, Mumbai for several years. She is an expert in hand embroidery techniques and a designer. She showcased her designer dresses with custom embroidery in intimate groups in the 1980s and 90s, followed by numerous public exhibitions. The unique color combinations in her designs were an immediate success. Initially focusing on hand embroidery classes, which still have a large student following, the emphasis shifted away from designing.

Fast-forward to 2019, many years later, a casual conversation with her niece about crafting and designing and the zeal to do something creative, led to the inception of Aasiwun. Her impact on designing exclusive table linens, runners, table cloths, saree blouses and dresses is substantial. Upon a successful initiation of the venture, even though she has retired from business, she serves as a guiding light whenever the team needs assistance.

Currently based in Pune, her embroidery classes are still held in Kothrud. A new addition to her endeavors is her role in the Marathi short film 'Gajra.' Check it out on YouTube. A visit to see her artistry and engaging smile is a must. Her demeanor is always cheerful, exuding enthusiasm.
